The new unit is part of St. Lucie Medical Center’s recently completed $22.4 million expansion and adds 35 private rooms and two new operating suites to the facility. The Institute’s unique, architectural design was carefully created to look more like an upscale hotel than a hospital wing.
Orthopedic patients are usually healthy adults who will spend only a short time recuperating after surgery. So the new unit is created to look more like an upscale hotel than a hospital wing. It gives patients the feeling they are relaxing, not recuperating.
