Jay Finnegan is the Chief Executive Officer of St. Lucie Medical Center, an affiliate of HCA. Mr. Finnegan has over 30 years of experience as a hospital executive in both investor owned and not for profit hospitals.
Prior to coming to St. Lucie Medical Center, Mr. Finnegan was the Chief Executive Officer of Valley Hospital Medical Center, a tertiary care teaching hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. While there he also served on the board of the Nevada Hospital Association. During his career, he also served as Chief Executive Officer of multiple hospital systems in Washington, Pennsylvania, a Mississippi hospital and two other hospitals in Florida.
An active participant in his hospital’s communities, Mr. Finnegan has been on the boards of numerous charitable and civic organizations including United Way, American Heart Association, Make-a-Wish Foundation and Big Brothers/Big Sisters and community civic organizations such as Rotary Club and local Chambers of Commerce and Economic Development Councils. He has also served on leadership committees for the Mississippi and Washington Hospital Associations.
Mr. Finnegan, a New Jersey native, received his Bachelor of Science degree from Belmont Abbey College in Charlotte, North Carolina and his Masters of Arts degree in Healthcare Administration from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Jay is married to Beth, his wife of thirty-six years, has three adult children and seven grandchildren. He and his wife reside in Stuart, Florida.
