Welcome from our Program Director
It is my pleasure to welcome you to learn about our Family Medicine Residency Program at St. Lucie Medical Center.
Our knowledgeable and compassionate faculty are committed to the program's goal to provide quality training that emphasizes clinical excellence, teamwork, leadership, and career development.
The St. Lucie Medical Center Family Medicine Residency program’s mission is to develop the next generation of physicians and physician leaders. As a part of HCA Healthcare, we are driven by a single mission: Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.
This program is designed to offer residents a rewarding, educational environment where residents are provided individualized learning opportunities by faculty and staff who support and sustain one another throughout quality care delivery. Our faculty are committed to ensuring the residents' clinical experience and educational needs are fulfilled while expanding residents’ perspectives to be inclusive of cultures, values, and ideals.
The Family Medicine Residency Program at St. Lucie Medical Center is an accredited and rigorous three-year program designed to train the next generation of physicians and physician leaders.
Our interdisciplinary approach to learning fosters excellent opportunities for professional growth, committed mentorship and clinical research. Alongside dedicated attending physicians and enthusiastic colleagues, residents strive for excellence in their training and provide high-quality healthcare in patient-centered environments and community-oriented service.
Our Family Medicine Residency Program is located on the beautiful Treasure Coast, a great place to live with some of the most beautiful beaches in Florida, great golf courses, great boating and world-class fishing. We have diverse communities with a low cost of living and high quality of life.
We are located 50 minutes north of Palm Beach, 1.5 hours from Orlando with easy access to the Florida Turnpike, I-95, and West Palm Beach (PBI) International Airport.
Our residents are encouraged and have dedicated time in their schedules to engage in scholarly work, ranging from local and regional presentations, attending National conferences, and publishing scientific manuscripts.
The environment at St. Lucie Medical Center is very supportive of residents and it has a robust Wellness Program supported by our Behavioral Health faculty. As the only Family Medicine residency within a 75-mile radius, we have ample opportunities for community participation.
Mentorship is established with faculty based on your interests early in training. Faculty provide advice and guidance throughout training to assist with research, quality improvement, educational scholarship and career development.
We are affiliated with Nova Southeastern University, Florida State University, and Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, as well as other medical schools in the area.
Our academic collaborations provide access to library resources, research support, and the opportunity to work with medical students to sharpen their teaching and mentoring skills.
